This piece is the latter part of Chapter 13 of Stones in the Body: More Frightening Than Cancer (Yoon Jong-won). It is a narrative containing the author's academic hypothesis, and the body, figures, and citations follow the manuscript as written.
Fifth, the Providence Discovered: The Human Being Is a Small Cosmos Holding the Providence of Nature
Therefore, the DIAH-7M Aging and Chronic Disease Pathway System that this book presents is not an invention devised by the human head. It is a discovery that has translated into physiological cause and effect and a logical system the providence of nature, which has existed from the beginning of time but which we had turned away from.
The human being is not a machine stamped out in a factory, cut off from nature. We are a small cosmos that holds, in each and every cell, the cycling principle of this immense ecosystem, the history of evolution, and even the pathological phenomena that the Earth undergoes. The reason I am ill is that the cosmos within my body has lost its order, and that order is connected to the order of the Earth.
With a solemn heart we redefine this theory and our practical aim as follows.
To reconnect the calcium ring that we have lost is not merely a matter on the level of curing an individual's disease. The health of the human being, collapsing within the tsunami of chronic disease that modern civilization has produced, and the health of the Earth, groaning from the wounds left by industrialization and manufacturing. These two are not separate problems but a twin crisis that arises from a single root, the severance of the calcium cycle.
Then how does an individual's calcium recovery lead to the recovery of the Earth?
First, the shift in diet. The alkaline diet we choose in order to improve DIAH, that is, a diet centered on vegetables and seaweed, inevitably reduces the consumption of meat. The livestock industry is a major cause of the Earth's greenhouse gas emissions and a key driving force of soil acidification and water pollution. The choice to prevent the acidification of my body becomes at once the choice to prevent the acidification of the Earth.
Second, breaking free from dependence on medication. If we understand the principle of DIAH-7M and resolve the root cause, we can escape from the chronic disease medications we seemed bound to take for a lifetime. The chemical wastewater discharged in the production process of the pharmaceutical industry, and the drug components that are excreted in urine after being taken and pollute the rivers: all of this environmental burden is reduced.
Third, the shift in consciousness. The person who has realized that my bones are the rock of the Earth and my blood is the primordial sea no longer sees nature as an object of exploitation. For the person who knows that to heal myself is at once to heal the Earth, the very attitude with which they face the environment changes.
In the end, the road of calcium recovery that DIAH-7M presents is a virtuous ring in which an individual's practice of health naturally leads to the recovery of the Earth's health. This is precisely the 'healing of coexistence.'
[Conventional Wisdom] Personal health management and protection of the Earth's environment are separate practical tasks, with different methodologies and goals
[Redefinition] The human being is a 'small cosmos' that embodies within the body the great calcium cycle of the immense ecosystem. An individual's calcium recovery (shift in diet, breaking free from dependence on medication, shift in consciousness) naturally leads to the recovery of the Earth's calcium cycle, and this is the 'healing of coexistence' that saves people and the Earth at the same time
Until now we have confirmed that calcium is the execution code of evolution, the wheel of the great cycle of the ecosystem, and the common language that connects the human being and the Earth. And we have also examined how an individual's calcium recovery leads to the recovery of the Earth. Then how can we connect this immense discovery to practice?
The Prevention Strategy Only One Who Holds the Map Can Build: The Union of the Genome and DIAH-7M
The DIAH-7M Aging and Chronic Disease Pathway System is not a rearrangement of existing medical knowledge in a different way. It is the work of newly proposing an operating system for life that allows us to redesign the entire way in which we live.
Two Maps: The Blueprint and the Operation Map
The moment we hold this map in our hands, we come at last to see the complete picture of life. If the genome map, which humanity completed by devoting several decades, is the innate blueprint engraved within the cell, the DIAH-7M map that this book presents is the acquired operation map by which that life lives as it collides with its harsh environment.
The genome map tells me which diseases I am vulnerable to and what genetic risks I was born carrying. But that alone is not enough. What is the reason that even identical twins with the same genes draw entirely different trajectories of health? It is precisely because the acquired environment, that is, the DIAH condition, differs.
To use the analogy of an automobile, the genome is the engine's performance specification, and DIAH-7M is the real-time road conditions and weather information. No matter how fine an engine one is born with, if one drives defenselessly along a cliff road under a downpour, an accident is bound to happen. Conversely, even if one has a somewhat weak engine, if one looks at the map and avoids the dangerous roads, one can arrive safely at the destination.
The age of blaming only the genes one was born with or relying on vague luck has passed. When these two maps unite and produce synergy, we come to hold true health sovereignty, controlling the environment beyond the limits of the genes.
From Passive Consumer to Designer of the Cycle
From now on, you the reader must not remain a passive consumer who agonizes only over which supplement to take one more of. As a driver who holds the execution code, you have a mission to protect the internalized sea that you have kept within your body from primordial times.
Just as acid rain dissolves the calcium of the Earth, within our body too the DIAH environment dissolves the calcium of the bones. Therefore we must ourselves purify the DIAH environment and protect the bones. We must become active designers of a life that maximizes the golden age in which the maintenance key that keeps life alive operates, that pushes back as far as possible the point at which the emergency warehouse opens and the decline key and the death key operate, and that turns the cycle back before the 7M mechanism collapses my body.
What this book proposes is precisely a compass that shows that road. It binds together, into a single map called DIAH-7M, the puzzle that had been scattered between the stern providence of nature and the exact language of science, and it helps you find for yourself the answer to the question, "Why is life born this way, why does it age this way, why does it collapse this way?"
This map will provide the most certain road by which, without being tossed about by disease and aging that arrive without warning, one can recover the health sovereignty that follows the reason of nature and protect a dignified healthy lifespan.
And this road goes beyond the healing of me alone. To revive the calcium cycle of my body is by the same principle to revive the calcium cycle of the Earth. The road of calcium recovery that DIAH-7M presents is the sole and most fundamental solution that humanity holds, one that heals at the same time the health of modern people suffering from chronic disease and the health of the Earth growing sick from environmental destruction.
[Conventional Wisdom] The genes determine health and lifespan, and the individual has no choice but to accept the fate they were born with
[Redefinition] The genome map is only a 'blueprint one is born with,' while the DIAH-7M map is an 'operation map by which one lives.' If we control the acquired environment (DIAH), we can reclaim 'health sovereignty' beyond the limits of the genes, and this is at the same time the 'healing of coexistence' that leads to the recovery of the Earth's ecosystem
